The frenetic chaos of last week has calmed down. Now that I have reconciled myself to the realities of how this eCommerce approach will work, the angst over app incompatibilities is significantly decreased.
I’ve reconciled myself to the reality that trying to use WooCommerce as a POS and as an on-line tool for event notification and ordering is not a productive use of my time and efforts — there are other POS tools in the wild that work well enough, even though they may not offer the single-site workspace I wanted.
A primary factor is cost. Our business is not yet at the point where we can indiscriminately plop down $49 for every app called for by whatever theme we happen to be using. Being indiscriminate with one’s cash flow is never a good idea.
Bottom line, doing what I want to do with a POS, an event calendar, and an eCommerce tool becomes an internal work flow issue rather than a comprehensive software, single backend endeavor. So be it — for now.
